It was 1502 when Christopher Columbus sailed on his fourth and last voyage to the New World. On August 15th of the same year, he captured a canoe of a Mayan trader near Honduras. It contained a cargo of cacao beans, the magic ingredients from which chocolates are made. He assumed that the beans were a kind of almond but then he observed and noted in journal that "The Mayans seemed to hold these almonds at a great value. I observed that when any of them fell, they all rushed to pick it up, as if an eye had fallen." The famous explorer brought the booty of cacao to Spain. And the rest, as they say, is history.
C’VADO1502: To escape into the world of chocolates in their purest form and variety
as they were in days gone by…
and as they should always be…
Together it is CVADO1502, an invitation to come escape into the world of chocolates and experience chocolate without preservatives and pure as it should be had. Lets wind back the clock to the first discovery and re-discover chocolates.
The club is started by Pankaj Nagori, an importer & businessman, and Pavan Nagori, a banker.
Pavan, while working for Deutsche Bank in Europe travelled extensively. One evening, over a dinner conversation in Germany, he realised the popularity of chocolate clubs abroad and the amazing variety that exists in Europe. We then decided to bring the Indians the access fresh chocolates in form of a tasting club and embarked on the 2 year journey to create CVADO1502.
Pankaj immediately realised that our greatest priority is Time and the greatest challenge, Temperature. Since these chocolates cannot be exposed to heat or frozen, we had to establish a new logistics system to ensure that the chocolates are stored, transported and delivered within an optimum range of 16°C to 22°C and handled under the strictest norms of hygiene.
We believe that you should consume these chocolates fresh as they are designed to be had. And true to our belief, our chocolates are brought to you within days of their being made in Europe.
